Learn the Rhythm of Professional Snow and Ice Management
Every storm gives you hands-on experience with the work that keeps homes and businesses accessible throughout the winter. You may help clear driveways, parking areas, walkways, and entrances using plows, snow blowers, shovels, spreaders, and other winter equipment while learning how a professional crew moves through assigned properties efficiently. You will also gain experience with salting and de-icing as part of Better View’s approach to keeping surfaces clear and usable. As you become more familiar with the work, you can build the confidence and judgment that come from experiencing winter conditions firsthand.

Several Better View team leads have been with the company for two to more than ten years, giving you experienced people to learn from while you become familiar with routes, properties, equipment, and winter operations. Build Confidence With Winter Equipment
Winter work gives you the chance to become more comfortable with specialized tools and equipment while learning how to care for what you use. Depending on your experience, training, licensing, and assignment, you may work with plow trucks, snow blowers, spreaders, skid steers, and other equipment used during snow events. Better View provides training, uniforms, safety gear, and access to the equipment required for the work, with experienced team members there to help you continue developing your skills. Proper equipment preparation and routine care are also part of keeping the crew ready throughout the season.
Compensation & Benefits
- Job Type: Part Time On Call
- Salary: Starting at $18.00 to $35.00 /hour, based on experience, licensing/certifications, and skill set.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Clear snow from residential and commercial driveways, parking areas, walkways, and entrances using snow removal equipment and hand tools
- Operate plow trucks, snow blowers, spreaders, skid steers, and other winter equipment when trained, qualified, and assigned
- Apply salt and de-icing materials to designated surfaces as directed
- Assist with preparation, inspection, cleaning, and routine care of snow removal equipment, plows, vehicles, and tools
- Follow assigned routes and crew lead direction to complete snow and ice management services safely and efficiently
- Communicate with crew leads and team members regarding property conditions, completed work, and equipment needs
- Be available for on-call winter storm work and varied hours as weather conditions require
- Assist other landscape divisions and with additional winter work as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Friendly personality with excellent interpersonal skills
- Work effectively and efficiently, able to follow directions
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness/ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, with a positive attitude
- Clean and professional appearance
- Punctual and dependable
- Ability to lift 60+ lbs consistently
- Available to work a varied schedule (including occasional Saturdays)
- Stand and bend for 8 hours or more a day
- A commitment to the safe operation of each work task
- Must pass DOT physical requirements
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Provide your own steel-toe footwear
